Meteorological Synopsis
A low-pressure system and active monsoon trough lie over West Bengal and adjoining areas of Bangladesh, with its axis running through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and thence eastward to Assam. Strong moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal is keeping the troposphere highly saturated across the country, driving widespread cloud cover and convective activity.
Under this synoptic influence, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are expected in most places over Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Barishal, and Khulna divisions, and many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Mymensingh divisions. Moderately heavy to heavy falls are highly probable in the southern and eastern regions due to active monsoonal winds.
Day temperatures are projected to fall slightly by 1–2°C across the country, while night temperatures will remain nearly unchanged. High relative humidity exceeding 90% in many areas will sustain high apparent temperatures and discomfort in areas experiencing temporary dry spells, particularly in the northern districts.
The North Bay remains moderate to rough with wave heights up to 1.5–2.0 meters, advising caution for small fishing vessels. The 48-hour outlook indicates a continuation of wet weather with a gradual decrease in rainfall intensity towards the end of the week.
